Technical

All of the information here is based on the craft as it was for the 2000 season. It's a bit of a work in progress and is always undergoing some change or other. You will also notice that there are very few photos. I didn't get round to taking many before I changed the craft for the 2001 season, so I've done some drawings to illustrate the points.

Hull and duct.

The hull is a Motor Cyclone of indeterminate age, though it is probably over ten years old by now. It's around 10ft by 6ft, made from glass fibre, and has a cockpit wide enough for two people. The duct is 750mm internal diameter and as it's an integrated craft, there is a splitter plate running horizonaly across the duct about 150mm in from the bottom edge. Any air going below the plate provides lift, any air above provides thrust.

Radom orbit console There is a centre console at the front that holds the water temp guage, master switch, Kill switch, and the steering cable fixings are on the outside, I made an early decision not to hide anything important inside the console. If anything breaks, it's important to be able to get at it as quickly as possible.
